In this video I show you where Harshad Mehta stayed in Mumbai. On my way to his house, I take the most important route in Mumbai on which the richest and the most powerful people in India and probably the world live. In the previous video I showed you the Rs 1000 Crore house in Malabar Hill which was recently bought by a member of the bear cartel in the 80’s and 90’s, Mr Radhakishan Damani whose net worth today more than 1.5 Lakh Crore. I also made a video about how he made such a big fortune in the stock market. After Babulnath Temple, we come across the home of another billionaire, Mukesh Ambani. His house Antilia is worth $ 2 Billion as of 2021. Then we reach Mahalaxmi Temple, Haji Ali Dargah and ultimately, Madhuli Apartments where Harshad Mehta lived with all his brothers as a joint family. The reason I talked about the other big bulls of the market like Radhakishan Damani, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Manu Manek in this video series is because I feel all these people were somehow interconnected by their fates. The fall of Harshad Mehta initiated the rise of the bears who made an extremely large amount of money by short selling all the stocks Harshad Mehta had invested in, using the money from the banks. Whatever Harshad Mehta did was wrong when one thinks about it from an ethical aspect but was our system too harsh on him? was he made a soft target? was he made the scape goat for the Rs 5000 Crore financial mess? These are some of the questions which still do not have a concrete answer because there were many people involved and most of them were in high positions in India which is perhaps the reason why they escaped whereas Harshad Mehta was cornered by the very system which he tried to find loopholes in.
